Grosvenor Hotel, Sheffield

History

The Grosvenor was a 5 star, 15 floor, 102-bedded hotel built in 1966. It is situated in Sheffield centre and was opened in time for the World Cup.

Failure to modernise the hotel as time went on resulted in its falling in to disrepair and it eventually closed its doors in 2010.

Since its closure the building has been used for South Yorkshire Police dog training and the existing car park continues to be in use.

The site has been earmarked for demolition since its closure as part of a regeneration scheme in to the surrounding area:
