History
Holme Spring Mill was originally founded as a small weaving shed by Henry Walton c.1856 and worked in conjunction with the neighbouring now demolished Grane Road Mill . The mill was extended in 1860 and again in 1912, with a large weaving shed was built over the swinnel brook in the 1950s. The last occupants were JH Birtwistle who had been part of John Lewis since the late 1980s. The company producing home furnishings, curtains, cushions, beanbags as well as various fabrics, chenille, etc.
Blackmores D Ltd has submitted a planning application to build a total of 104 homes on the former Grane & Holme Spring site.
